4. Trial statistics

the trial statistics report provides a detailed summary of recorded data for any selected trial by trait and date of measurement note that this report is restricted to trials with well documented trial layout information steps for use of this report are outlined below step 1 make selections select the trial of interest this enables a display of traits for which data has been recorded and loaded against the selected trial select the trait of interest this enables a display of assessment dates for this trial and trait select an assessment date this enables calculation of statistical results for the selected trial and trait on that date select the planting block of interest this enables display of raw data (including plant layout and trait value) according to row/column position within the selected trial and block step 2 view outputs results are displayed in tabular and graphical format tabular format the number of plants with results for the selected trial, trait and date in the example given below, there were 474 trees measured for height on 25th october 2014, with a mean tree height of 5 68 meters within the 474 trees measured, there were 22 different genetic entities with 21 of the 22 entities present within block 2b, at an average tree height of 5 71 meters this puts the average ranking of block 2b for height at the 41th percentile of all height results collected within the trial on that day block data is also available (row/column position) with the block layout tab showing genetic entities planted, and the plants measured tab showing measurement data loaded note that the survival trait is used to identify plants/trees reported as dead (highlighted in pink), with no measurement data for these plants on the date of assessment graphical format users can also click on any cell within the plant block plot map, to ascertain how this individual is ranked for measurements with respect to the rest of the trial in the example provided below, the individual planted in row 3, column 2 of block 2b, was identified as being genetic entity h003, with a height record of 5 71 meters which placed it at the 45th percentile for measurements recorded that day these results are also presented graphically, with the histogram showing the distribution of weight data, and the blue line showing either the block or individual selected
